The National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention has designated the Friday of Memorial Day weekend as “Don’t Fry Day” to encourage everyone to kick off the unofficial start to summer while being sun safe.

The goal of Don’t Fry Day is to raise awareness about sun safety and skin cancer prevention. Skin cancer is the most common and preventable cancer in the United States.

The simplest protection from sun damage is to simply wear a hat!
